In the churchyard at Holy Trinity, Prestwood there was a small, secluded area that was in need of something – something to make the area intentionally prayerful.
Joan Hicks had been a Christian since childhood, but it was whilst living and working at the Taizé Community in France in her mid-20s that she first felt a calling to ordained ministry. This began a journey which ended with Joan being part of the first cohort of women to be ordained priest in 1994.

The Revd Canon Richard Lamey, Rector of St Paul's in Wokingham and Area Dean for Sonning, has been announced as the Director of Mission and Ministry in the Diocese of Norwich.
Family, friends, colleagues and parishioners from across the Diocese of Oxford gathered in High Wycombe to remember the Rt Revd Dr Alan Wilson on Saturday. His memorial service was held at All Saints church in the town where more than 300 people attended in remembrance of the Bishop of Buckingham.
